Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week hush-up in style
October 25th, 2010Sometimes, the planets d0 not align unexpectedly. This past weekend was one of those times I’d been appearing forward to the rand-finale runway show of Harriett’s Park Avenue Fashion Week for ages and at the last minute had to be out of town.
Remember that first year I which the runway show was seized outdoors and the heavens opened just as the first model stepped onto the runway.
And the second year, when we had a great big gorgeous tent to shelter us from the elements — all except the heat.
However last year, the air was cooled and the number of outfits was more tightly edited. But still afternoon and an evening of shows were too much of an excellent thing.
This year, by all accounts, the evening-only show was fast-paced, the models were lovely, the hair and makeup fantastic and — most prominently of all — the fashions amazing.
The above picture shot by the tireless Jack Edwards say it all. Glamour all up and down the runway — and sitting along with the runway, too and thanks to Harriett Lake, whose kindness helps keep Park Avenue fashion Week afloat and flourishing.
